wasting my time again

How did you waste your time today?I think it's fair to say that while I was drawing this week's strip I really should have been doing something else. But that's just generally true at the moment. I shouldn't be writing this now, I shouldn't be going out tomorrow, I shouldn't be working at the bookshop or going to that party in London tomorrow night.

And I shouldn't be reading comics or that new Jasper Fforde* book, either. And as for watching the raver episode of Samurai Jack, well, that's right out. A bath, or dying my hair? Forget it. This gig this evening, a total no-no ... urgh. My head hurts. I spent yesterday afternoon laid out with a migraine and I can feel another one coming already. This is lousy timing. Still, that's their job. They turn up when you can least spare the time.

* Which is great, by the way.

Is that a crumpet or a biscuit Damian has there while you're waiting for coffee? And in panel 7, you look to be maybe in Townsville!

crumpet!
Damian is addicted to crumpets. I'm fond of them too, but have problems with food in the morning.

I do confess that the no-outline cartooning style of certain animated series is beginning to have a bit of an impact ...

Townsville
I like the no outline for the background look, it's my fave panel.

Favourite panels...
Visually, I think I like the looking out of the window one best; the curtains are very three dimensional, and I can imagine shoving them a bit. Concept-wise, the notion of turning off alarm bells that shouldn't be ringing rings a bell for me [so to speak].

I didn't realise it had got that bad.

There are horrible computer woes destroying my previous identity.

Switch to cleanskies @ yahoo.co.uk and (fingers crossed) it should get through.

Re: arf-arf!
when I was just a little girl, I asked my daddy what will I be? Will I be helpless, will I get drunk, here's what he said to me, don't be a jerk, a jerk, a jerk, and get back to work, to work, to work, don't dream when there's things to do, if you know what's good for you, que sera sera, so forget about all of that, and don't forget to wear a hat, to keep of the sun.

Spam Monsters
My friend Jamie is writing an opera based on Groc's "Spam Monsters" series. It is Dada-ist poetry like what you get. Cool, eh?

spam opera insanity
way cool

I just got sent what may be the *perfect* spam message, from Chadwick U. Enslave, with a subject line of " RE:Cleanskies LOOK IN MY EYES AND TELL ME WHAT YOU SEE lamps " ... it ends with a well-poportioned poem along the lines of wispy macho roman china safer kinky a touch level goody moons

although mostly it is just people telling me to look at Bobbie-jo's webcam. Again.
