ashton court photos

Nice day, but very, very hot.

We saw The She Creatures (blue haired 60s garage space ladies, see photo), Liftmen (sang a song about axolotls), Dynamo's Rhythm Aces (kind of twangy), Doreen Doreen (gay disco covers with leopardskin dancers and a noisy diva), War against Sleep (the swirly psychedelic stuff of which I am so fond), Kid Carpet (toy-boy with a laptop singing silly song, so good), Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel (saved Come up and see me for the encore), Super Furry Animals (wore blue anoraks, looked like multiple grovers), and Science is Fiction and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow with Granzon Nodo (weird film mash-ups from The Cube).

And while I'm linking to everything and anything, here's some mad shit electronica. Be sure to check out this insane version of hound dog, no, you are not anything but a hound dog, crying all of the time.

Got that right.

Franz Ferdinand, and now...
Be honest, there's some sort of neo-80s Germanophile music movement afoot, isn't there? ;-)

well, of course!
Because we all like boys in sharp suits and stern-looking ladies shouting at us about how life is screwed up now.
