My Apple iWipe
Originally uploaded by sMoRTy71.
This picture of an antique mac adapted into a bog-roll holder is included especially for mzdt, who seems a little under the weather at the moment, but others may find it amusing, too. Via Groc, whose enthusiasm for the new cyberman design confirms my opinion that they are, hmmm, a bit *too* stylish to be scary. I mean, check out those boot-cut leg plates, over-long sleeves and somewhat cartoony skaterboi feet. Without even starting on the g-string. Wonder who's going to be doing the voices? And whether we'll get a partially cyberized Billie? Perhaps I could post Captain Jack/New Shiny Cyberman to obvious_slash. Or not.

Re: cyberjackslash
Yeah, well, hence "obvious_slash". Although I'm not sure shagging a cyberman would count as safe sex ...

a little under the weather? possibly disappearing up my own arsehole...

bear in mind I read via groc_blog, so saw it. I trust the mac was dead to start with, though? Personally I think a cube might be better, as the paper could come out of the slot in the top, rather than having to lean down a long way...

I still have a loft full. The working ones will stay working, but I must admit I do think there's a portable telly and a pair of speakers worth of reuseable cases... ;-)

let's get drunk together soon?

bah!
Of course you do. I think speakers might make good string-holders, but aren't really big enough for much else. The obvious mod for an old telly? A fish tank. Though that would involve being responsible enough to look after pets which isn't going to happen with me, ever.

Sounds like a plan: does this involve your coming to Oxford or me going to London? Actually, I've been meaning to get back into going to gigs in London, if that sounds agreeable ...

Re: bah!
other way round - turning 9" screen mac cases into speakers (would make a great guitar practise amp) and a telly (I have an Apple IIc 9" monitor which is really just a black and white telly monitor, and a standalone tv receiver (designed for an amstrad computer monitor, I think). It'll happen one day. Possibly.

email about gigs, OK? Apparently I have to introduce you to ultraruby before the month is out... ;-)

yes,
I think that's fast becoming compulsory.

Come to London! With pink hair! And then my dream will come true...

well,
the pink hair shouldn't be a bother, so if you've got any suggestions for when/where ... (suddenly suspicious) wait, it wasn't one of those dreams where squirrels eat your toes or you get trapped in an angry building and the floors keep crumbling, was it?

Re: well,
No, it was the dream I told you I had last week when you were feeling poorly and I dreamed you were better because you were hanging out with me in London, and you had pink hair.

Suggestion for when: December 3rd. Not sure where exactly yet, as I am trying to work out which is the best place for a big group of my friends to go a-drinkin'... (It's my birthday on Xmas eve. Not doing a drink-up then, obviously, so I picked the first weekend in December cos hopefully not everyone will all be booked up with crimbo parties then...)

I know --
I was just being stupid. And I'm at All Tomorrow's Parties that weekend ... about which I'm rather overexcited ... but alternative suggestions would be gratefully received ... oh, did you decide where you're going to come to Brighton this w/e yet?

Re: I know --
Ooh, ATP, I'm jealous! I'm sure we can come up with other days... I know I can't do the weekend before that, though.

Not sure about Brighton yet. It seems inevitable, and I have even budgeted for it in terms of alcohol and transport, but I still don't have a place to stay, and I'm going to Southampton, and so on, so I probably won't decide until Thursday or something!

Anime feet and dandy-sleeves aside, are you telling me you wouldn't shit yourself if you saw that skull-faced bad-boy in an alley somewhere?

The cybermen kept getting less and less scary to me.

This dude restores it a bit. Least he's not wearing spray-painted moonboots and wearing some sort of fetish silver jumpsuit...

with those abs and cheekbones?
Hmmm. Let me think about it.

If he had a skateboard, no. If he was marching forward with fifteen similar surrounded by a scuttle of armadillo-like cybermats, shouting, "halt and be cyberized!", yes.

There have been worse cyberman design though, I do admit. Ohdearmeyes.

Re: with those abs and cheekbones?
Yes, like...everything from THE INVASION on.

I have faith in sweet and loverly Russel T. Davies.

I'm expecting something awful, like a part of the armor being blasted off, to reveal the sickly and horrible flesh underneath, full of wires and hate.

Hmmmm, Not Bad...
I always did find cybermen weirdly erotic. That time they marched out of the sea, guh. (Or did I dream/imagine that one?)
