weekend achievement list

  • Completed epic (aren't they all?) Order of the Stick game. I played Elan! And lost, obviously.
  • Listened to new Space Heroes of the People song about 12 times.
  • Restocked childrens section at the Oxfam Bookshop. We have some LOVELY picture books in. Managed to avoid buying them all on the spot (just).
  • Started august compilation (working title "day job"). Added a few more songs to floodwater and fireworxxx (july and june).
  • Proof of concept on the crocus catalogue flower garlands, made 2, made mental note to make about 12 more.
  • Broke up some old sunglasses for bits, then used the bits to repair two favourite pairs of sunglasses.
  • Cleaned bathroom and threw out old ununsed cosmetical things. Paddled in bath, with rolled-up trousers and everything! It was the weather for it.
  • Disposed of two bags of books, including my Finnegan's Wake. Life-stage alert!
  • Put a new knob on a kitchen cabinet door. Should make it easier to tell people where to find the Resolve and Chammomile tea.

Just because these weren't on 43 things doesn't make them any less achievements.

You do have some lovely picture books (says she, back from her weekly trawl). Nothing that immediately appealed to me, though, but I did get Remains of the Day and Magic for Beginners from the general fiction.

If you're ever in Liverpool, I'll take ya to a lovely lady who makes feathered hat things. (I've just commissioned yet another feathered thing off her.)

Dig 43 things... I'm always making lists. I might sign up to it but er... I've go a lot of things that need crossing off that I ought to be getting on with now.

Ooooh. Do you think she'd know how to sort out a feathered hat for someone with hair as short as mine?

It's a good idea to go to the shop an try on various options, see what suits and what doesn't, what stays on your head and what doesn't... then you can commission her to make you summat to your specification.
She likes challenges, though I dunno if she's ever done anything involving really strange materials. (Circuit boards and stuff... though she'd probably be up for it if you could provide the unusual materials.)
