your thinking, frankly, puzzles me

Thankyou tenovertwelvers! Your compilations are processed, your packages prepared and all the inadequacies of your data storage fully probed (actually, not bad this time -- cheers! although, oxfordhacker, that's still a borrowed datastick).

Having plumbed the depths of the obvious myself (including a song by -- ta-da! April March) I was expecting a lot of doubling up this time. More fool me! In fact, only one song saw two mentions, and I'm at a bit of a loss as to what it has to do with March or April. However, without further ado, I present the perfect song for spring:

Er, what? Never mind, trust me, on both of the comps where it features, it's perfect in context...

Dolphins were monkeys
Or as I like to think of it "I read about the aquatic ape hypothesis once but I was stoned and frankly I have misunderstood some fairly basic things". Except that didn't scan.

Re: Dolphins were monkeys
A friend of mine at university, with regard to the aquatic ape thing, tried to come up with an avian ape thing. I don't think it progressed very far beyond a drunken conversation.

I think I'm more the avian ape type myself if you know what I mean
I was planning on bringing your CDs to you at the weekend, if that's OK?

Absolutely -- I'm looking forward to them. Your notebook is also still here, since it didn't make it into anyone's luggage. When do you expect to arrive?

Saturday morning 11am-ish I think. Nothing gets going at Dot-to-Dot till early afternoon -- we could drop off the car, have lunch, then bus into town?

Oops - just last night I booked a test drive at 12 thinking you'd be a bit later than that. Shall I try to change it? What time are you likely to be heading into town?

Actually, what am I thinking -- that'll be fine. I can make you a cup of tea at eleven and head off to the Toyota place at 11:30.

yes, it'll be fine
Or, if we get delayed, we can turn up at around 1-ish. I'll keep you posted on our progress, anyway!

(reminds seldf) must remember your tenovertwelve CDs..

Re: yes, it'll be fine
Maybe I could try going there a bit earlier, then I'll be back still lunch-ish time.

Re: Dolphins were monkeys
A deeper analysis:
In this song Brown undermines his former creationist stance, as displayed in 'I am the Resurrection' and 'Breaking into Heaven', and instead subscibes to the Darwinian theory of evolution. Dolphins and monkeys coming from the same original gene pool, the former showing disdain for dry land.
Or maybe there's no real meaning and it just sounds cool

fantastic creatures
and you could certainly argue that both monkeys and dolphins are fantastic creatures

I love that the video had a pop-up ad for adopting a dolphin. If they'd stayed as monkeys they could've evolved into us, but no, they "didn't like the land". I say: fuck 'em, they made their choice.

that's kinda cladist
what, nothing for adopting an orangutan?

this one, right?

OK, let's see now. The red headed guy turns into an orange cat, not a fox. The girly-looking boy turns into a rat, except in this translation they say mouse. The flashy guy with white and black hair turns into a cow. Except the fan's done a significant glances only compilation (is there a word for that?) which (along with the comedy and the disruption of the school's marathon with an epic poker game) has completely lost the whole changing into animals thing. Mind, you, this one of Ritsu doesn't feature him turning into a monkey either....
