feeling the femininity today

Woo-hoo! What a way to celebrate The International Day of the Girl -- ellenlindner just sent me a note from the printer. Our gorgeously plump (96!!!! pages) Strumpet 2012 is going to press. I've just put up the next sneak peek over on the blog -- a fantastically atypical piece from Karrie Fransman, all stylish sillouettes in smokey ink wash. There is still time to pre-order your copy on Kickstarter of course... and news coming soon on the launch. We'll be at Comiket, for sure -- but there should be an evening do, too -- for all your best going away clothes!

Oh, and also, for anyone who has not seen the Australian Parliamentary Misogynist Slapdown yet, see below:

I don't know what her politics are, but that is a fine performance, and I admire her for it.

She's a Labour politician but not sure how well she is thought of, what her policies & track record is, etc. A fine performance, as you say. Classic!

Her politics seem not everything one would hope for (though she does tick a few crucial boxes)

..and what happened next, after that incredible speech? The motion against the speaker defeated by ONE vote. & The embattled speaker resigned anyway.

The speech lives on though, & has greater import than that one vote, I'm sure.
