bookshop mural - the staff only sign

I put some photos of the mural up on Flickr, if anyone fancies a look. Step one photo back to see the very lugubrious fish.

There are also photos of St Giles Fair and that suggestive flyposter I was ranting about earlier.

Fabulous mural. I liked the fish best. I would probably have sat on the floor and made them talk in funny voices.

Okay, see, I love 'em all, but being the utter loon that I am, I keep looking at the fan.
The fan in the tree.
Either the inside of the tree is so hot that it needs a fan blowing in to cool it off, or the inside of the tree is so hot that it needs a fan blowing out to cool it off.

Hunh.

Or maybe a squirrel burned the the acorn pie it was baking, and it is blowing out the terrible smell. Or the squirrel is taking a shower, and the fan is blowing out the condensation, so as not to warp the wood.

...

I need a hobby.

no, the inside of the tree is cool
it's blowing cool air out into the basement of the Oxfam bookshop. Although the squirrel theory is good, too. Except that the condensation would warp the books.

Damn you and your revisionist Squirrel Theory!

'specially when it's right.
