2020 lack of vision

home improvements

Well, I went to see Adrian's (smallbeasts) newly-extended house at the weekend. Even half-finished, it's awe inspiring. Also awe-inspiring was that I still had a headache from the night before when I got there at 6-something. As usual, though, I felt elated the following morning. I am refreshed, I am reborn, all that jazz. Working on making that into more of a reality but still things continue looming. Ho hum. Other highlights of the weekend included putting up a mirror without destroying the plaster in the bathroom, repairing an auction house piano stool (finally, a sprung chair for my long drawing board stints!) gifted me by geroge and realising that bookshop manager Jen can recognise the noise I make when I find a potentially valuable book from the next room, even though it's not a very loud noise and there's always plenty of chaos going on in the back room.

Lowlights included a great deal of brooding and seeing Broken Flowers. Which was terribly boring. Oh, and don't be fooled by the fact that Tilda Swinton is in it, she's only onscreen for about 3.2s and while I might feel that's enough Tilda to justify a cinema visit, your mileage may vary.

Oh, damiancugley, you wondered if the robots in the new Beck video could possibly be real? You bet your pants they are -- they're the four prototype QRIOs, performing a programmed dance routine.
