stop, get ready, go ...

traffic light hair

I did my hair over at the weekend. It was supposed to be autumnal, but it's ended up looking more strawberry-and-lime. Now, every time I look at my hair, I want a cocktail. Note matching "traffic light" amber earrings. That was an accident. I was in a state of some misery last night, and, chased out of the office by hoovers and feelings of inadequacy, I wandered home via Oxford Holographics. Ah, beautiful earrings and things that glitter and glow. The owners (I think -- a nice old couple) were in, and asked me how they could improve the shop. I was at a bit of a loss --- one preened when I said they had about the best silver jewellery in town, I suppose he must make some of it. The other told me he wasn't easily impressed by glowing things, and gave me tips on how to operate the fiddly LED switches. Bah, I can't find an online UK supplier for the colour-changing beach balls. But look! The Glow Pet Store. Confuse your cat in the dark!

Look! Someone I don't know has posted this inspired mash-up of the "Sex Appeal" chapter of Wizard How to Draw Superheroes and Jon Berger's Ways of Seeing. If you care, the original versions can be found a ways down in this image-heavy post how to draw female comic characters (according to Wizard)... scroll down for more triangle tit-wrappers, balloon breasts and barbie tip-toe legs than you can stand -- and some engorged muscle-men, too.

Aaargh. Putting it off for quarter of an hour hasn't helped. There's no way I can respond politely to this email. Maybe I can put it out as a livejournal poll or something. Tomorrow.

Oh, I found someone who will sell me savory! My first Seasoned Pioneers order turned up this morning -- a fragrant little cardboard box full of exotic spice mixes (they sell a mediterranean mix with lavender, though I went for a very pleasant sounding Ras el Hanout and a rich-sounding mix called Dukkah) and a few other oddities, including sassafrass! Prompt service, good prices and cute little resealable spice packets. Mmm-mm. Recommended.
