As Charlie Brooker reminded me last night, it is less than 100 days till the election. But, we're not yet in Purdah, so now is the perfect time for some Friday morning fantasy electioneering. Because last night (admittedly in a montage
) I saw quite a few party slogans and I can't remember a single
one of them.
Help me LJ. Write me a political slogan I can really get behind. You've got two positives and two negatives, but feel free to subvert expectation (like you always do).
My approach to election coverage will be:
Grab the popcorn and open a book on who gets into a fistfight
Catch up on all the best gaffes on Youtube the next day
Wearily sigh as yet another shiny-faced Etonian pontificates over my supper
Catch up on the important news via my preferred satirist
Turn up the bass and ignore; I know who I'll be voting for anyway
Same as I do for all mainstream media - ignore!
This tiny box is too constraining - I will explain below
Aim to be a vox pop at least once
I will be voting in the election
In a state of barely-suppressed excitement, and watching the all-night coverage on the BBC!
Just before my shift as a polling station volunteer
In a hurry, on the way to school/work/etc.
While holding my nose
In a state of weary indignation
With a little dance
Air-punch in the booth, high-five on the way out
I will be spending the immediate pre-election period
Out of the country
Out in the countryside, stockpiling
Dodging the news
Speculating wildly around the kettle at work
Doing what I normally do at that time of year, TBH
I'll need to explain in the comments
Rants, disputations with the state of my questions, speculations on the nature of modern democracy and suitable pictures -- please take them to the comments!
