weekly strip updating

Remember how I asked if anyone wanted to do guest strips for me? Well, here's a wonderful piece from Demian Guild of Ghostwriters Stimson called This is your life ... ?.

It is my life. All true, every word!

And while we are on true stories, this strange and sad story seems like a good posting for today: Laima learns to spell.

laima learns to spell (detail)

It's about a year old, this strip, but it's been languishing in the not-good-enough pile -- I'm busy tidying up The weekly strip and filling in the holes and half-finisheds. So it's done now.

You can find out a bit more about Laima on BBC Online.

Uh...I don't remember you asking that! I'd love to do a guest strip, how does it work?

Oh, you were moving at the time I think so probably missed me saying. It's not very complicated, you just do one and send it on over. Nine panels, kind of about me maybe if you feel like it?

It's done!
Well I've written a script! the idea came to me in the bath this morning, hurray! You want to read the script before I draw it or do you just want to see it when I'm done with it?

thanks Jeremy, what a fun exercise.

oooh, decisions
On the one hand, I'm totally curious to see what you've written, on the other hand maybe it should be a surprise ... ah, it's up to you, I think. Whichever you prefer.

and either way yay! And yay again!

Laima is a very powerful piece indeed. Where's it being published?

Bloody hell - just read Laima the second time and I'm even more stunned and speechless than the first time I read it. Good work.
