where does all the rain come from?

Wasn't a bad weekend at caption comics convention, though my impression was, fewer people. Or perhaps I was just missing my generation. Met two separate women who were keeping a diary of their lives in comic form, though only one would show me hers. Now I'm kicking myself for not getting their details to pass to sallyshinystars...

I also went workshopping and was struck (during the 24 minute comic) by the idea of capping my ornamental urges by setting an egg-timer per panel to keep me on schedule. Then I did the Al Davison workshop, where I managed to disgrace myself thoroughly during a visualisation exercise. Oh my subconscious. It's not really fit to take out in public. After all, only last night I was dreaming that Fat Boy Slim was playing in a semi-reconstructed Zodiac and the sole came off my shoe, whereupon the woman on the door (who was a cross between Zodiac Amber and my most memorable Job Adviser) told me just to prise off the other sole, and it would be fine, but I was like it's my shoe! and trying to get the soul up off the floor (to which it was firmly stuck) so I could put it back on.

Actually, speaking of gigs and stuff there is a Space Heroes of the People gig this saturday at the Port Mahon with some other interesting bands (details, myspace links, etc. over in timscience's journal) and oh hey, I meant to post this link ages ago: Jeremy sings Barbie is a robot. That's a direct link to the mp3, if it's playing up you can find it by going to Gappy Tooth and clicking on "listen".

Damnit, I can't beleive I forgot about the perseids! We'd been talking about it before food (while I was lying down groaning and feebly clutching the cat while my migraine medication kicked in) but then Richard Dawkins came on the telly ....

an egg timer = a v.goob idea to help quick drawings

( note to self: try to do a 24 minute gomic sometime ) ( - i'd never have the energy/discipline/get up & go to do a 24 hour one )

I still think 24 second comics are the way forward.

here's how i think a 24 second gomic would work for me: i've just abt managed to pick up my crayon - TIME UP...! ( this scenario = vaguely reminiscent of some exams i've taken )

*where does all the rain come from?*

So you got all our rain? Weather forecasts have predicted rain for days in end but there is not a single drop... :-)

You can have ours. No, really, you can have it.

In my opinion, balance (enough for both) would be the best option. But the balance is going haywire...

I'm having no luck watching for meteors, despite all the hype about near-perfect conditions.
Pesky urban light pollution...
BARBIE IS A ROBOT is excellent! I flashed on Laurie Anderson and Johnny Rotten.

Hahahaha! More Johnny than Laurie I think.

Assisted by the Pretty Vacant-esque riff? Most enjoyable!

My impression was similar amount of people but fewer comics. Maybe I was just choosing to believe such a thing as I'd so woefully failed to produce a new comic!

Anyway thanks for my stay. I didn't see your or D before I headed off, despite him being a panellist on the panel I last attended, so i just disappeared into the Ocford evening and photographed some spires.
