passing like a ghost; a phantom

This is not this week's strip. Oh no. This strip dates back literally to last june. Some things are hard to draw; not in the sense of being difficult or challenging, but in the sense that some things are hard to say. You find your hear hammering as they go down on paper. You have to stop, and get away from it for a while. For some reason, this was one of those. In the end, I coloured it a single panel at a time until I was past halfway. Then two panels, then the last two.

You'd think I'd be used to it by now.

The fear of shallow water

fear of country drivers
Heh, no, this one goes back to long before I read IT (which I did at school, like you're supposed to). I used to imagine as a child that the road was a slow-flowing river, and if I walked across it quickly I would be safe, and if I dawdled or stopped I would sink and drown.
