progress of a sort

It was a domestic weekend; cleaning, rearranging, tidying, the slow sorting out of things and the final finishing touches to our now completely redesigned bedroom, with its attendant domino-collapse of knock-on tasks -- wardrobes to find deserving new homes, shelves to be placed carefully against different walls, winter clothes, wraps and throws to be stowed away in new places. It's all in place now -- furniture, curtains, the new bed, and it all looks really lovely now. Very pleased. Replacing the grim and grimy cream and lilac woodchip wallpaper and manky, stained and ancient black/grey/blue carpet with this:

new floor

was a good first step. Now we really have a good room to sleep in. But there are other things I have neglected, somewhat in this frenzy of cleaning and DIY. I stand paralysed now, not sure what to do next, and shall therefore apply the usual solution:
